JOHN TERAUDS, TORONTO STAR

John Terauds joined the Toronto Star as a freelance writer in 1988. On staff since 1997, he has been writing about and reviewing classical music since 2001. He became the classical music critic in 2005, a role that expanded to include other genres in 2010.

John started piano lessons at age 4 and began singing shortly afterward. He continued music studies through university and has worked as a church organist and choir director since high school. Besides his work at the Star, John is the director of music at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Carlton St., in Toronto.
